Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving!

Keith Mitchell, Ph.D. is the principal photographer at DigitalAspirations. Keith is a member of the National Photographers Association of America (PPA) as well as the Austin PPA photographer’s guild. He has attended hundreds of hours of photography workshops and conferences, building his technical skills for professional level work. His work has won several awards at the Austin PPA guild. Keith has attended the Texas School of Photography, a week-long mentor-driven training for four years, working with some of the most renowned photographers in the nation. 

Along with his technical skill, Keith will be using professional level photography equipment, including the premium Nikon and Sony cameras and lenses required to produce large format prints. Keith has been recognized for his advanced software driven post processing skills required to transform a photo into a work of art worthy of your wall. 

 Dr. Mitchell is a retired educator with careers which included a classroom teacher, Texas Education Agency education technology consultant, Apple computer, where he served as an executive education briefing consultant, and the University of Texas Science Education Center where he supported state-wide science/math teacher in-service programs. 

Keith enjoys sharing his passion for photography with others and has often taught photography courses for the Friendship International ministry at First Baptist Church in Round Rock where his family attends. Keith regularly volunteers his photography and media skills to support his church family and non-profit causes in the community. Keith is a grandfather of six and loves to work with children.

Certification

Keith Mitchell, Ph.D.  has earned the Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) designation from Professional Photographers of America (PPA).  Keith earned this designation after completing an intensive program that measures his artistic and technical competence. Professional Photographers of America currently recognizes fewer than 2,500 CPPs.   

“I have always valued and worked hard to obtain recognize credentials in my areas of interest. To become an educator, I completed ten years of college work concluding with a PhD. in science  education.  To support his work in telecommunications, I passed the FCC certification to become a first class radio and television engineer and an advanced class radio amateur license. Proud to now add certification by the PPA as a Professional Photographer 

Professional Photographers of America (PPA.com) is the leading body for certifying imaging professionals. CPPs must complete a written examination, finish an image evaluation and adhere to a strict code of conduct. Certification must be renewed on a periodic basis, ensuring continued confidence in the professionalism of Certified Professional Photographers.

Student Intern

Alyssa Todnem

Dr. Mitchell will often involve others in the photo sessions, including youth that he is training in photography skills who will act as secondary and primary shooters using his equipment. These participants will work under his immediate direction and supervision.

Currently, Alyssa Todnem, a Junior in high school is serving as a paid intern focused on portrait photography.  She works both with Dr. Mitchell and Independently and has been doing so for 4 four years. She frequently takes the lead in photo sessions.  You can contract with her independently from her website at Alyssa Natural Light.
